Accessibility Statement
Last updated: June 12, 2026
Fayetteville Children’s Clinic wants every family to be able to use this website comfortably, including parents and caregivers with disabilities. We built accessibility into the site from the start and we keep working at it.
Our standard
This website is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, with ongoing work toward the 2.2 AA success criteria. Accessibility is reviewed whenever the site changes.
What is built in
- A skip-to-content link, consistent landmarks, and a logical heading structure on every page.
- Full keyboard operability: every menu, accordion, filter and dialog can be reached and operated by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. The mobile menu traps focus while open, closes with the Escape key, and returns focus to the button that opened it.
- A Display & Comfort panel, opened from the button in the footer of every page, with five options that persist on your device: larger text (two sizes), high contrast, reduced motion, readable text spacing, and hiding decorative artwork.
- A light and dark theme toggle in the header, with color contrast checked in both themes.
- Respect for your system’s reduce-motion setting: animations, the scrolling highlights band, and decorative movement stop when reduced motion is on, whether set in your operating system or in our panel.
- A full Spanish version of every page, switched with the EN/ES toggle, including translated labels for assistive technology.
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images; decorative illustrations are hidden from screen readers.
- Touch targets sized for fingers, layouts that reflow at high zoom without sideways scrolling, and no autoplaying video, flashing content, or pop-ups.
Third-party services we link to
Links to the patient portal, online bill pay, map directions, and outside health resources lead to websites we do not control, and their accessibility varies. If you have trouble with any of them, call us at 910-484-3121 and we will help you another way, such as handling the matter by phone.
Known limitations
Some downloadable PDF forms were created outside this website and may not be fully accessible to screen readers. If a form gives you trouble, call us and we will complete it with you by phone or have a paper copy ready at the front desk.
