Most of what your child needs happens right here in the clinic: exams, screenings, lab work, and many procedures. Below is what each service includes.
Well-child care
We care for children from birth until they turn 22. Well visits follow the American Academy of Pediatrics schedule and include a physical exam plus age-appropriate screenings: development and hearing, vision and lead, blood pressure, oral health, anemia, tuberculosis, dyslipidemia, autism, and depression. Immunizations are given at these visits.
We also schedule pre-operative physicals and clearances for sports, camp, daycare, kindergarten, and college enrollment. Well-visit times fill 1 to 2 months in advance, so please call ahead of deadlines.
Sick child care
Sick visits are by appointment, and same-day sick appointments are almost always available. Call the front office and our staff will help schedule your child. When you are not sure, a nurse can offer phone advice as time allows.
During Saturday clinic season, established patients can walk in between 9:30 and 11:30 AM. Saturday clinics are temporarily closed from May 23 through September 5, 2026.
Immunizations
We carry all required and recommended vaccines and follow the CDC and North Carolina immunization schedules. Our doctors support the use of vaccines and encourage all parents to see that their children are fully immunized. The clinic’s age-by-age schedule is on our Resources page.
Allergy testing
We evaluate for both environmental and food allergies. Serum (blood) environmental testing can be ordered for symptoms like a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, post-nasal drainage, cough, asthma, eczema, and repeated ear or sinus infections. Serum food testing can be ordered for symptoms such as hives, lip swelling, or vomiting. We no longer perform allergy testing in the office.
Results show your child’s likely triggers, and your doctor may recommend environmental changes or medication. We do not administer immunotherapy on site; when advanced treatment is needed, we refer to an allergist.

Please check with your insurance company about coverage for in-house testing. If a test is not covered, we will gladly send an order to a qualified laboratory your insurance prefers.
On-site procedures & treatments
Our doctors and nurses handle many minor procedures in the office, including:
Wart removal with cryotherapy, and chemocautery for nosebleeds and umbilical stumps
Dermabond laceration care, wound dressing, and suture or staple removal
Finger, wrist and elbow splints; ankle and knee braces
IV placement and fluids, ear canal lavage, and urinary catheterization
Respiratory nebulization, inhaler training, and Epi-Pen training
ID NOW molecular testing for strep, influenza A and B, RSV, and COVID
Breastfeeding & lactation support
Our physicians fully support breastfeeding as the first choice for babies. If feeding is hard, the doctor will first check your baby’s weight and overall health, then coordinate a lactation consultant referral when needed. Many insurance plans now cover lactation consultation; check with your plan.
Specialty referrals
When your child needs a specialist, we help schedule with in-network providers, obtain the insurance authorization, and forward the medical history that the specialist needs. Referrals may take several business days to process. You can then call the specialty office and schedule the appointment date and time that is convenient for you.
Prescriptions & refills
Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose. For refills, call your doctor’s nurse when two weeks or less of medication remain and allow 48 hours.
Prenatal visits & newborns
Expecting? We offer prenatal consultations so you can meet the doctor you pick before your baby is born. When you deliver, notify admissions at labor and delivery that you have chosen Fayetteville Children’s Clinic, and we will see your newborn 2 to 4 days after hospital discharge.
Respiratory equipment
For certain respiratory conditions, we provide nebulizers and spacers through Active Healthcare, Inc.
